Omani predictive analytics startup ZabonEx has secured $100,000 in pre-seed funding to expand its B2B SaaS platform for food demand forecasting. The round was led by Future Fund Oman and ITHCA Group, marking one of the few early-stage investments into supply chain intelligence in the sultanate’s growing tech scene.

Founded in 2023 by Hatim Moosa and Almuhannad Al Balushi, ZabonEx delivers real-time, customer-level demand forecasts for F&B producers, distributors, and retailers. The goal is simple but pressing: help businesses reduce overproduction, cut waste, and better align inventory with actual consumption patterns.

"This round is a major step forward for us," said Moosa. "It will allow us to accelerate both business development and product enhancement within Oman’s F&B ecosystem. We are committed to building a strong local foundation before expanding to regional markets."

ZabonEx’s platform uses predictive analytics to tell food businesses where, when, and how much of each product will likely be sold. The company says this helps reduce unnecessary stock, improve delivery efficiency, and boost profit margins, all while supporting sustainability goals.

“F&B businesses are under pressure to stay profitable while meeting sustainability expectations,” added Al Balushi. “ZabonEx was born from this challenge. We empower them to make better decisions by forecasting demand at a granular level, improving not just margins but also their environmental footprint.”

The funds will be used to enhance the company’s core predictive engine, expand its technical team, and develop partnerships with key players in Oman’s food supply chain. ZabonEx is also building tailored onboarding and reporting tools for local producers and retailers, ensuring its software reflects the country’s unique market dynamics.

With rising food costs and mounting sustainability pressures, ZabonEx is positioning itself as a new layer of intelligence for MENA’s food distribution sector. Early traction in Oman may serve as a launchpad for regional growth in the coming year.
